The project envisioned is located on a narrow stretch of man-made beachfront, close to the harbor in the Governate of Musandam’s largest town and capital, Khasab. The program calls for enhancement of the public beach on its eastern stretch, and construction of a 4 Star hotel on the western stretch. Remote, rocky and rugged, the Musandam Peninsula occupies the tip of the Arabian Peninsula, jutting into the Strait of Hormuz, between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Musandam is an exclave of Oman, separated from the rest of the country by the United Arab Emirates.

The low mountains in the region form the northern-most tip of the Al Hajar al Gharbi (Western Al Hajar) Mountains. The climate is hot and humid with some winter rain between December and March.

Khasab is a historic town of approximately 18,000 residents, first settled 300 years ago as a trading station for water and dates. Fishing, agriculture and ship building have historically been the area’s primary industries with tourism emerging as a potential significant source of local employment.

The town is the jumping off point for exploration of the Musandam Peninsula and can be accessed by plane and ferry from Muscat and by the winding Khasab Coastal Road from UAE, approximately a 3-hour drive from Dubai.
